Position Summary

We are seeking a senior-level PeopleSoft on Oracle Cloud (OCI) Administrator / Architect with deep, hands-on expertise across both PeopleSoft systems administration and Oracle Cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the installation, configuration, modernization, and day-to-day administration of enterprise PeopleSoft 9.2 landscapes operating on modern PeopleTools versions (8.58 through 8.61+) and hosted on OCI.

You will bridge infrastructure architecture and application administration: provisioning and maintaining multi-tier PeopleSoft stacks, configuring High Availability and disaster recovery clusters, driving PeopleSoft Cloud Manager adoption, and collaborating daily with our US consulting and delivery teams to support large-scale enterprise clients across North America.

Key Responsibilities

PeopleSoft Infrastructure Administration & Engineering

  • Install, configure, optimize, and maintain PeopleSoft v9.2 applications across all tiers on Linux (Oracle Linux / RHEL).

  • Configure, tune, and administer core third-party middleware components: Oracle WebLogic, Tuxedo, Micro Focus/NetCOBOL, and Process Scheduler.

  • Build, clone, and maintain multi-tier environments dedicated to upgrade tracks, development, QA/testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Configure and maintain modern PeopleSoft user interface and search technologies, including Fluid UI, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch.

  • Serve as the technical expert for PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA), PeopleSoft Portal technologies, and web server clustering.

  • Create and configure core components: file servers, web domains, application domains, process scheduler domains, and PeopleBooks.

  • Configure and support Integration Broker (IB), REST/SOAP services, and enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) with LDAP, SAML, and Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS) / IAM domains.

  • Perform application object and project migrations across non-production and production environments; leverage Application Designer, PeopleCode, and Application Engine from an administrator and troubleshooting lens.

Oracle Database & High Availability (HA) Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain PeopleSoft databases on Oracle Database (19c / 23ai).

  • Deploy and support Oracle High Availability solutions, including Oracle RAC and multi-node clusters.

  • Manage backup, restoration, cloning, and point-in-time recovery using RMAN and Data Pump, integrating backups directly with OCI Object Storage.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architecture & Modernization

  • Design and implement secure, scalable OCI architectures for PeopleSoft workloads (VCNs, private subnets, Network Security Groups, OCI Load Balancers, and FastConnect).

  • Deploy and leverage PeopleSoft Cloud Manager on OCI for automated provisioning, environment cloning, and automated PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) lifecycle management.

  • Participate in PeopleSoft Lift-and-Shift migrations from on-premise data centers or third-party clouds to OCI.

  • Implement business continuity and automated Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures across OCI availability domains and regions.

Client Consulting & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work directly on a day-to-day basis with Astute’s US-based consulting practice and project managers to meet project milestones, SLAs, and deliverables.

  • Provide rapid tier-3 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis (RCA) for complex production incidents.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of dedicated, hands-on PeopleSoft Administration (PeopleSoft Basis/Systems Admin) experience supporting enterprise environments.

  • PeopleSoft Stack:

    • Proven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining PeopleSoft 9.2 on Linux platforms.

    • Deep familiarity with PeopleTools (8.58, 8.59, 8.60, and 8.61+), PIA, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Process Scheduler, and Integration Broker.

    • Hands-on implementation of Fluid UI and Search Framework (Elasticsearch and OpenSearch).

  • Database & HA Expertise:

    • Solid Oracle DBA foundations (Oracle 19c/12c): database upgrades, table/index rebuilds, performance tuning, and schema refreshes.

    • Hands-on experience configuring Oracle RAC and restoring databases from RMAN backups.

  • Scripting & Automation: Strong shell/UNIX scripting skills for task automation, log rotations, monitoring, and operational maintenance.

  • Client Engagement: Demonstrated track record supporting large-scale enterprise clients in the US or UK within a professional services or managed services model.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Cloud Certifications: Active Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect or Cloud Operations certification is strongly preferred.

  • Direct experience running PeopleSoft Cloud Manager on OCI for automated provisioning and patching.

  • Exposure to automated Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

  • Familiarity with enterprise ERP modernization concepts, including modern API integrations and enterprise AI platforms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent technical solutions directly to client stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a distributed US delivery team under strict delivery timelines.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • US Base Salary: $110,000 – $135,000 USD (commensurate with experience) + performance bonus
